Flackers™ and Seedsters™, made by Doctor In The Kitchen, were developed by Dr. Alison Levitt, M.D. as a perfect crunchy, healthy, completely raw snack for those trying to manage their weight or for those who are just looking for something nutritious to munch on. All Doctor In The Kitchen products are organic, kosher, raw, gluten-free, high in fiber, high in omega-3's, and vegan. Additionally, the seeds are sprouted, which increases absorption of the nutrients. I am not usually a fan of packaged foods, as I feel that preparing things myself is always healthier. When I discovered how truly nourishing these two products were, I was completely amazed! Flackers™ and Seedsters™ have now become a staple in my pantry.
When I received all of these delicious goodies in the mail, I had just made my Low-Fat Vegan "Cheeze" Dip - perfect timing! I could barely contain my excitement, so I ripped open the package, took out all 5 boxes of Flackers™, and dipped one of each kind into the dip. Each was even more delicious than the previous! The 5 flavors I received were 1) savory 2) sun ripened tomato and basil 3) dill 4) rosemary 5) cinnamon and currants. Savory was my absolute favorite for dipping into my cheese dip or eating by themselves. The sun-ripened tomato and basil crackers are also quite tasty, and have a sharp hint of tomato and basil, just like the name suggests. Both the dill and rosemary Flackers™ are also delicious and have the same basic nutty, crunchy flavor with hints of dill and rosemary, respectively. Cinnamon and currants is kind of like a dessert cracker with a hint of sweetness, so they are better to munch on by themselves rather than dipping into a savory dip. I have been snacking on these mid-day when I am craving something sweet but don't feel like whipping anything up, and they are SO GOOD.
These truly are the perfect snack. They come in a convenient package that is the perfect size to squeeze into your purse when you need a snack on the go. They are light and crunchy and totally delish. My absolute favorite are the sweet onion and garlic. This may sound crazy, but these taste EXACTLY like Chex Mix. I used to have Chex Mix often as a child for a snack, but haven't had them in years (due to the fact that they are totally unhealthy and not nutritious). The second I tasted the sweet onion and garlic Seedsters™ I had an instant flashback to my younger years munching on Chex Mix - it was an amazing trip down memory lane! Seedsters™ are my new go-to grab-n-go snack that are filling and tasty and leave both my belly and my tastebuds happy.
