This is wonderful , however not 100% vm vegan with cocoa powder as they had dairy, carob powder would be a great replacer
Amy
Cocoa powder doesn't have dairy in it.
Denck
Cocoa powder is 100% vegan. Whatever you are looking at must have had non vegan ingredients after the fact.
melissa
cocoa powder does not have any dairy in it. it is made from the cocoa bean thus it is vegan.
david
The recipe calls for cacao powder -- NOT cocoa powder.
The two sound similar but are not the same thing. Cacao powder is chocolate in it's raw form with nothing added. It is vegan.
Cocoa powder, by contrast is roasted, ground and usually mixed with sweeteners and cocoa butter.
Tammy
Thanks David! I did not know that!
Kim
No. Most cocoa powder is vegan. Please check the ingredients and research the company, though. People can choose to use carob, but can use cocoa. I don't use Hershey's cocoa, but even it is vegan: https://www.hersheys.com/en_us/products/hersheys-natural-unsweetened-cocoa-8-oz-cans.html

How is ths only 111 calories, there are 4 bananas. Don't bananas have like 100 cals each?
Heather
There are 4 servings in the recipe
Heather
The calories listed are per serving. I imagine there's more than one serving in the recipe.
Elise
Hey Anna,
If you'll look the recipe says "makes four servings" & the nutritional info is for one serving. So if you ate the entire yield of the recipe it would be roughly 440 calories.
Anna
Oh, I just saw that. Thanks! I'm so going to make this tonight!
Ursula
Like your banana ice cream and any othere
Kate
I added coconut milk for an even more decadant finish!!
Judi
I made this using 1/2 cup chocolate cashew milk and 2 TBS peanut butter. It was outrageously delicious.

This is what is referred to as nice cream in the vegan community. It's simple, flexible and delicious.
